A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the analog and digital grounds separate and connect them at a single point. Use a decoupling capacitor (e.g., 10uF) close to the device to filter out noise.
Use a high-impedance voltage source (e.g., a voltage divider) to connect to the VIN pin. Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (2.7V to 5.5V). Use a low-pass filter (e.g., RC filter) to filter out noise and ensure a stable voltage measurement.
Perform a self-calibration by connecting the CAL pin to VCC and then to GND. The device will automatically calibrate its internal voltage reference. For more accurate calibration, use an external voltage reference (e.g., a voltage divider) and adjust the CAL pin accordingly.
The POR and BOR features are enabled by default. To disable them, tie the POR/BOR pin to VCC. To use them, connect the POR/BOR pin to GND. Ensure the power supply is stable and within the specified range to avoid false resets.
The maximum allowed voltage on the analog input pins is VCC + 0.3V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device. Use voltage limiting resistors or a voltage divider to ensure the input voltage is within the specified range.
