ABLIC recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
To ensure stability, use a minimum output capacitance of 1uF with an ESR of 1Ω or less, and a ceramic capacitor with a voltage rating of 6.3V or higher. Additionally, keep the input and output capacitors close to the regulator.
The maximum allowed voltage on the EN pin is 6.0V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the internal circuitry.
The S-1313A15-M5T1U3 is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the output voltage may decrease at high temperatures due to the internal thermal protection circuit. Ensure the device is properly heatsinked and the output voltage is monitored.
Power dissipation (PD) can be calculated using the formula: PD = (VIN - VOUT) x IOUT. Ensure the calculated PD is within the maximum rating of 1.5W.
